3D based on polarizing lenses is todays topic. In this video I do visual demonstrations of linear and circular (As in RealD 3D system) polarizing glasses. I discuss the need for a silver screen and do a demonstration of why you need one.

@cp1699 Look out the window, now imagine the window is a screen and everything outside it is on the screen. Then e.g. you see a car close to you then a house far away. Even though on a TV its 2d (because all the images are on a flat screen) the Glasses make it as if your looking through a window. If an object is far away on the screen, the glasses make it as if its actually far away.

If you have Real D 3D glasses, hold them to your face backwards and tilt them up and down while looking at your monitor.

why does it polarizes while facing the glasses, but not when the glasses are backward? (at some point you turn the glasses around and the polarization is gone…)

I’m wondering if I have these glasses and my HDTV and if I play a movie on it which is 3D and I use one of these glasses will I get the picture right or no ?
